I will tell you this right now, dehairing can be a severe pain in the rump. So be prepared to mutter non-nonsensical, evil things under your breath. |
HHHHHHHHHHHHH |
The first part is easy. If you plan to save the hair make a pony tail and use the twist tie to keep it all in one bunch. |
Now just take the scissors and cut off the mane as close to the head as possible. Careful not to nic the plastic. |

Now that your pony looks like something out of a bad biker movie you will need to get the hair out from the inside. |
Take the scissors (closed) and scrape away at the hair from the inside of the head. |
HHHHHHHHHHHHH |
Now, a lot of customizers will tell you to dump 100% acetone into the head, wait a few minutes for it to soften the glue and then pull it out with tweezers. I myself have yet to try this method and I doubt I ever will. I don't like to waste acetone, also I'm lazy. You're more than welcome to try this of course. |
HHHHHHHHHHHHH |
As you scrape away the glue switch to the tweezers once in a while to pull out any hair that comes loose. This whole process usually takes me about 15 minutes; unless, of course, there is a very large amount of glue, then it can take a good 30 minutes (This is when muttering evil things under your breath comes in). I've found that this happens with about 1 in 6 bait ponies. |
Now your pony is bald. ^_^\/ |
Time to remove the tail. Postion the neck hole of the pony so you can see the tail and washer on the inside of the pony. |
Use the tweezers to 'hook' the tail (Push it through the fold in the tail base) and pull it out. |
You can set the tail aside for donor hair or throw it away. It's your choice. |
